dCas9-p300 Histone Acetylation Nuclease

Length: 1 bp(0 aa)

Function: Histone Acetylation

Base protein: dCas9 Catalytically Dead Nuclease

Architecture

Catalytically dead Cas9 fused to catalytic core of human p300 histone acetyltransferase. Deposits acetyl groups on histone H3 lysine 27 (H3K27ac) at target enhancers and promoters.

Characteristics

Targeted histone acetylation for gene activation through chromatin remodeling. Creates active chromatin marks at target loci. More durable activation than VP64-based systems. Particularly effective for activating developmental genes and endogenous enhancers.
