Application:

CMV, CAG, EF1a, and hSyn promoters are all used to drive strong expression of a gene of interest in various cell types, with CMV and CAG considered very strong, ubiquitous promoters, EF1a often preferred for stable expression across different cell types, and hSyn specifically used for neuronal expression.

• CMV (Cytomegalovirus) promoter: One of the most commonly used promoters, providing high levels of expression in a wide range of cell types due to its strong activity across diverse mammalian cells.
• CAG (Chicken Beta-Actin promoter with CMV enhancer) promoter: A synthetic promoter combining the CMV enhancer with the chicken beta-actin promoter, offering robust and consistent expression in various cell types, often considered even stronger than CMV.
• EF1a (Elongation Factor 1 alpha) promoter: Known for its stable and consistent expression across different cell types, making it a good choice for experiments where consistent transgene expression is crucial.
• hSyn (Human Synapsin) promoter: Specifically designed for neuronal expression, driving gene expression primarily in neurons.
