Compact 681 bp astrocyte-specific promoter containing the A, B, C1, and D regulatory regions of the human GFAP locus. Maintains selective astrocyte expression in AAV vectors while freeing cargo space for larger therapeutic transgenes compared to the full-length GFAP promoter. Standard choice for reactive astrogliosis research and CNS astrocyte-targeted gene delivery.
