Mouse 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide 3'-phosphodiesterase (Cnp) promoter 2',3'-Cyclic-nucleotide 3'-phosphodiesterase (CNP) promoter; active in myelinating cells, primarily oligodendrocytes in the CNS and Schwann cells in the PNS. Standard promoter for targeted gene expression in myelination and demyelinating disease research.
Characteristics Oligodendrocyte and Schwann cell-specific promoter; active throughout CNS myelination. Used to target transgene expression to the oligodendroglial lineage in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve.
