Tags

Affinity and epitope tags are short peptides or protein domains fused to a protein of interest so it can be detected, purified, labelled, or targeted for degradation. Selection depends on what the tag is for, its size relative to the fusion partner, whether it can be cleaved off afterwards and by which protease, and the antibodies or resins available to detect or capture it.
