CRISPR C-to-G base editors for inducing targeted DNA transversions in human cells

Kurt et al. (2020). Nat Biotechnol DOI: 10.1038/s41587-020-0609-x Citations: 646

Key findings

First C-to-G transversion base editor combining APOBEC1(R33A), E. coli UNG, and Cas9 nickase. CGBE1 achieved mean 14.4% C-to-G editing (up to 71.5% at optimal sites) with reduced off-target RNA effects. MiniCGBE1 variant lowered indel frequencies.
